1. Cadet Entry NDA (NAVY) and NDA (Naval Academy) (UPSC)

NDA (Naval Academy) Optees will undergo training (Total four years) at Naval Academy only. All cadets will be awarded a B-Tech Degree on completion of training at Naval Academy at Ezhimala.

Note: The candidate opt for NDA (Navy) will undergo three years at NDA, Khadakwasla and one-year training at Naval Academy, Ezhimala

1. Conditions and Qualifications

  • Unmarried Male Indian, Nepal & Bhutan (with certain conditions)
  • Educational qualification 10 + 2 equivalent qualified with Physics, Maths, and Chemistry
  • Age Between 16 1/2 -19 yrs
  • Selection Through Written exam (Apr & Oct/ Nov) by UPSC
  • SSB Interviews (Aug/Sep & Jan/Feb)
  • Joining at NDA/Naval Academy Jan & Jul
  • Physically fit and mentally robust to undergo rigorous training

Note: 12th appearing students can also apply UPSC Exam and SSB.

2. Medically Fit Criteria

Applicants should be medically not disturbed and not to be undergoing treatment permanently or temporarily. 

A few minor exemptions are accepted, but you should confirm that you can sustain to undertake any kind of physical and mental hardships during training and future job assignments.

3. UPSC Examination Subjects

  • Mathematics paper (Algebra, Trigonometry, differential, calculus, vector Algerba..etc) contains 300 marks
  • General ability test (English – basic grammar, and vocabulary, General Knowledge- Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, geography, current affairs) with 600marks (All Objective type questions with negative marks).

2. 10+2 (B Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme, INA (NON-UPSC)

If you have appeared for JEE (Main 2020) for BE/B.Tech Exam then this is a golden opportunity to join the Indian navy as an Officer.

Application to be submitted between 6 October,2020 and 20 October, 2020.

1. Conditions and Qualifications.

  • Joining: Twice in a year
  • Age between 17 years – 19.5 years
  • Unmarried Male, Indian, Nepal, and Bhutan (with certain conditions) origin.
  • Educational Qualification: 12th passed with 70% in PCM and 50% in English in 10th or 12th standard shortlisted based on current JEE( main) score/rank based.
  • Interview: Direct interview (SSB) & Medical Test (Same as NDA (Navy) Entry)
  • The validity of JEE(Main) rank for applying for the scheme is one year from the date of declaration of the JEE (Main) ranking by CBSE/NTA
  • Call up for an interview based on the merit list of highest marks in academics and JEE (Marks) score

2. Benefits of Joining Indian Navy Through 10+2 (B Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme

  • Training at INDIAN NAVAL ACADEMY (INA) at EZHIMALA, KERALA (Nearest Airport – KANNUR).
  • On completion of four years, the cadet becomes a B-Tech Engineer.
  • To become part of either Executive, Electrical/Engineering as a permanent commissioned officer up to 57 years.

Stage I(Screening test on the day of reporting ( MOST IMPORTANT TEST) – Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT).

Stage IIFOUR DAYS. (a) Psychological Test – Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test(WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT) & Self Description Test (SDT).

GTO

Group Discussion (GD), Group Planning Exercise(GPE), Progressive Group Task (PGT), Half Group Test (HGT), Individual Obstacle Test (OT), Command Task (CT), Group Obstacle Race(GOR), Lecturette, Final Group Task (FGT).

Personal Interview

Based on your submitted Personal details at the time of reporting at SSB (be truthful and frank- the way you are, face and enjoy the interview) by Interviewing Officer (IO)

This interaction is generally for 15 – 45 mins

Final Conference 

Selected candidate to be retained for Medical Test ( I believe if you are regular in games, sports, and extracurricular at your school, Need Not Worry, enjoy coming days with various tests held at Defence Force Hospital under specialised doctors.)

A board of officers will declare your Medical Fitness (sometimes they may tell you to carry out some medical treatment, if required and report to service hospital for finalization)
