What is SSC Tech Entry in Indian Army?
The Short Service Commission (SSC Tech Entry) provides an opportunity for young technical graduates to join the Indian Army as officers and become more capable, bold & confident while leaving for civil life.
A lot of people have a misconception that joining the Army as an SSC Tech Entry officer has many disadvantages like non-pensionable service, leaving at the young age of 33-35years, denied facility of Ex-Service Man status including CSD, medical facilities..etc.
Yet, Every Single Year the Training Academy in Chennai is always full.
Hundreds of defense aspirants genuinely face the SSB interview to join the Indian Army (including Women) due to the following reasons as I visualize at the age of 54, who have two Engineering Graduates kids of my own.
Why Aspirants Prefer SSC Tech Entry?
1. Non-availability of job in the MNC.
MNCs like Reliance, TCS, and Infosys will offer you Rs 15 to 20,000 per month either in Mumbai, Bangalore & Pune.
However, The Army is offering more than Rs 75,000 the day your training starts.
2. Limited promotion avenues
The MNCs will allow only an individual who is highly capable of working with the target.
But, the Army will allow you to grow and perform by self-realization & by self-confidence.
3. Limitation of movement
A number of companies are located in India’s big & polluted cities, where you will have restrictions to move around.
On the other hand, joining the Army means you are guaranteed to live in a peaceful environment with your families in Army Cantonments
SSC Tech 59(Men) and 30(Women) Eligibility Criteria
1. Aadhaar Card(Proof of Nationality & Date of Birth)
2. 10th & 12th class original certificate
3. Engineering Degree/Provisional Certificate
4. Age – Born Between 02 October 1995 & 01 October 2002(Both days inclusive)

How to Submit Application for SSC Tech Entry Online
1. Go to www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
2. Click on ‘Officer Entry Apply/Login’ and Click Registration
Do note: if you have registered previously, you can simply log in
3. Fill the Online registration form after reading the instructions carefully.
4. After getting registered, click on ‘Apply Online’ under the Dashboard.
5. A page called Officers Selection – ‘Eligibility’ will open.
6. Then click ‘Apply’ shown against Short Service Commission Technical Course.
7. A page ‘Application Form’ will open.
Read the instructions carefully and click ‘Continue’ to fill in all your details like Personal information, Communication details, Education details, and details of the previous SSB.
8. ‘Save & Continue’ each time before you go to the next segment.
9. After filling in details on the last segment, you will move to a page ‘Summary of your information’ wherein you can check and edit the entries already made.
10. Click on ‘Submit Now’.
Online Application can be submitted from 08 March 2022 to 06 April 2022 till 3 P.M.
Note:
Candidates must click on ‘Submit Now’ each time they open the application for editing any details.
The candidates are required totake out two copies of their application having Roll Number,
30 minutes after the final closure of the online application on the last day.

Financial Benefits & Promotions For SSC Tech Entry Officers
- Commission on probation in the rank of Lieutenant @Rs 56,100-1,77,500/-pm(Level- 10)on reporting at OTA, Chennai on 01 October 2021.
- Promotion as Captain @Rs 61,300-1,93,900/-pm(Level-10B) on completion of two years of commission(after successful completion of 49 weeks of training at OTA, Chennai).
- Guaranteed promotion & Rank of Lieutenant Colonel@Rs 1,21,200/-2,12,400/-pm (Level- 12A) in the last year of service of SSC(14th year).
- Option to continue to serve the Army on completion of promotion & service examination and become General @2,50,000/-pm(Level-18, Fixed).

Selection Procedure of SSC Tech Entry October 2022
1. Call up for an SSB interview based on your academics in Engineering from the first years.
2. No change of date & place is allowed at least till the Covid-19 pandemic exists.
3. Take all COVID-19 Precautions prior to reporting SSB Centre at Allahabad/ Kapurthala/Bhopal/Bangalore.
4. Travel expenditure will be compensated by cash/transfer on freshers.

Hi, It is very sad there is no chemical for female entry! I want to try since so many years.
Only 1 vacancy for male for female 0. How can I apply though I have percentage , I really want to join forces.
For environment engineering vacancy is ther but not for chemical??:(
